All in the Family.

Well... We added another member to the family this afternoon.

Her name is Laila. She's a full blooded, AKC registered, three year old lab. We got her and her papers for free. A woman came into Pet Supplies Plus and put up a flier which Justin saw and promptly texted me- KNOWING I would be hooked from the start; so blame him. Long story short, they had her and another male lab that they used to breed but the male recently got ran over and isn't in the best of shape. They have to tend to him so much and with their full time work schedules, Laila wasn't getting the care or attention she deserved. She is such a sweet dog and not too big for a lab, she's about the same size as Kenny and Tara's black lab [for those who know Dixie]. She is definitely a momma's girl already.
As you can tell, Bear isn't too sure about her yet. He's always been skittish of other dogs, and he's warming up to her a lot faster than I thought he would. She has been nothing but gentle with him. Even with the cats, they don't like her at all but she didn't try to go after them or anything. Tom was the only one who got close, by accident, and he swatted and hissed at her and that was enough to keep her away for good. Justin and I are off work and school the next two days, so we're going to make sure to spend a lot of time with her and the other animals to make sure they mesh well. Her and Bear, both, already follow us EVERYWHERE. Bear will get close to her and carefully sniff her and then the second she moves a muscle he runs off with his tail between his legs. Part of him wants to play with her so bad, but the other part is too much of a wimp! I'm sure by the end of the day tomorrow they'll be best friends.

  2. Yeah, well we're probably giving her to my friend's dad. She's too big for the trailer, the cats hate her- Tom scratched at her, and she snaps/growls at Bear sometimes.
