It snowed in Tuscaloosa yesterday! It came down steadily from 9am til around 3pm. In the days leading up the weathermen said they did not expect it to stick, but boy were they wrong! The pictures are from this morning, 24 hours after it started snowing. Classes were cancelled half way through the day yesterday and all day today; possibly even tomorrow if we don't get above freezing. There was 100+ wrecks just in Tuscaloosa yesterday and people have abandoned their cars on the roads. Some schools even had their students stay the night at school because the roads were too dangerous for buses to take them home or have parents pick them up. You can tell Alabamians are NOT used to or prepared for snow... Anytime there's talk of snow people go into panick mode. I'm pretty sure it has snowed like this at least once every year since we moved to Tuscaloosa (I can't picture it in 2012, but I know it did in 2011, 2013, and now 2014). I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen this year, but Mother Nature showed me! I'm glad Tuscaloosa is sending us off with one last good snow before we move to Laughlin, where it never snows. Driving yesterday was miserable... A 15 minute drive home from campus took Justin an hour and a 5 minute drive to Hungry Howies took me at least 15 minutes! Luckily we both got home safe and sound with no problems and we plan to stay in all day today.
We had to put the pups' sweaters on because they were so cold yesterday, even with their winter coats in full "bloom".
We decided to take them to the little field behind our house (first picture) and let them play in the snow. They ran all over for about 15 minutes and then we decided it was too cold for them. They were covered in snow! Sophie kept rubbing her face in it for some reason. We had to put them in the bathtub to thaw the snow/ice out of their fur once we got them in. The cats haven't been outside since Monday, but they are being surprisingly good about it. Usually they hate being cooped up inside, but I guess they know what awaits them outside!

it took lynn 4 1/2 hours to get home from school yesterday! glad you guys were safe.
